Kodachrome – A Color Slide Film Like No Other
A legendary color reversal film that stood completely apart from the rest: Kodachrome was not developed using the industry-standard E-6 process. Instead, these rolls had to be sent directly to a specialized Kodak laboratory.
The unique twist back then: the cost of this complex processing (the K-14 process) was usually included in the initial purchase price of the film.
As shown in the example above, it was also possible to buy the film as an all-in-one package that included both development and mounting. Kodak would then return the finished slides in their iconic cardboard mounts. The sample photos were taken in 1987 and feature a Pentax 67 with its distinct wooden grip.
