    When I started photography in 1982, I mostly fed my camera slide film. I wanted to see my pictures large on the screen, and of course, high-quality images could also be produced from slides in a professional photo lab.     35mm black-and-white film was my preferred recording medium, alongside photography on slide film. I have developed thousands of these black-and-white films since 1982. My favorite films were Ilford Pan F, HP5, and later Kodak T-Max 400. A black and white negative film in a glassine protective sleeve. An Ilford Delta 400 was used here, my standard black and white negative film in the 1990s. Ilford writes about this film: "When it was launched, the ILFORD 400 DELTA revolutionized black and white photography and was therefore voted“ Europe's black and white film of the year 1991/92 ”.     Polaroid actually had 35 mm instant films in its range, but these are almost forgotten today. These products were called Polachrome, Polapan, and Polablue. They were 35 mm slide films that did not need to be sent to a photo lab after exposure, but were developed directly on site in a small, handy “AutoProcessor.” There were three types of film: Polachrome: color slide film (ISO 40) Polapan: black-and-white slide film (ISO 125) Polablue: special film with a blue color cast for graphic effects Polachrome Actually a great idea. A color slide film that was (is) easy to develop at home immediately after exposure and the photographer holds the slides in his hands after just 5 minutes of development with preparation and follow-up. No wet hands, no measuring of water and chemicals and no darkroom were necessary. A development pack was included with every film. The film and the development pack went into a Polaroid auto processor and were developed there. More on this in the video. Unfortunately, Polaroid discontinued its portfolio of these films in the early 2000s. The Polachrome was an instant color slide film. Polapan In addition to the three types of film mentioned here, Polaroid also produces the Polablue CN, a blue-on-white film with 8 ASA / ISO. The Polapan was a black and white slide film with 125 ASA / ISO, which was offered with 12 or 36 exposures. In 2021 I would recommend the films Polapan and Polagraph for a fun day of photography. Unfortunately, I was only able to develop one of 5 polachrome films, with all the others this failed due to the dried-up chemistry of the development pack. Polagraph Polagraph films were high-contrast black and white films that were particularly suitable for capturing motifs such as tables and graphics - or were used artificially. The above picture of the viewfinder was made with a Polagraph film; the other two pictures (Hasselbald and film packaging) with a Polachrome film. As long as there are still overlaid films - buy one!

I did a quick calculation and found that with just under 750 euros (as of April 2022) it is possible for anyone to get into digital full-frame photography, because this price is for the package of a Nikon D600 and the two Nikon lenses AF 2.8 35-70mm and AF 2.8 80-200mm ED due.
